It’s a great day to be a Houston Tiger!
The Houston School District believes in “striving for excellence and learning for all” as stated in our mission statement. Here at Houston High School we support this mission statement by providing units of credit in various areas of study including collegiate studies, vocational studies, and various studies in the arts. Multiple extra-curricular clubs, organizations, and athletic teams are available to support student interests. HHS encourages student involvement in any of these groups.
In supporting student learning, Houston High School is a Professional Learning Community which focuses on a collaborative culture in supporting student learning. As part of our Professional Learning Community processes, HHS offers student supports through our ATLAS (All Tigers Learn at School) period. ATLAS allows students to receive assistance in needed areas or enrichment opportunities in a chosen class. HHS is also a Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) school in that we teach appropriate behavioral expectations in all settings of the school.
Houston High School has been designated by the state of Missouri as an A+ school. The A+ program provides funding toward post-secondary training for qualifying students at a vocational/technical school or community college.
At HHS, students are expected to be problem solvers as teachers provide the tools and parents provide the necessary support. Please partner with us as we are “striving for excellence and learning for all.”
