Houston Middle School proudly serves approximately 220 students in grades 6-8. We offer a variety of courses for our students. In addition to core curricular classes in math, communication arts, science and social studies, we also offer courses in family and consumer science, art, music appreciation, reading, keyboarding, technology, band, choir, physical education, health and Spanish.
Our school is a Professional Learning Community in which all stakeholders and teachers collaborate frequently to move toward our middle school mission of “High Levels of Learning for All – Endless Opportunities”. The middle school incorporates a response to intervention time called Tigers Need Time, (TNT), to promote success of all students. Administration and teachers work collectively to incorporate best practices and continue to grow professionally to provide the learning environment we believe all kids deserve.
Our students benefit from an eMINTS technology grant for over $300,000. Teachers and students are well equipped with essential technology for learning. We are extremely proud of our school, students and faculty at HMS. Our staff is dedicated to provide a positive and safe learning environment for all students and we are very proud of our school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the middle school.
