Pink Out for Relay for Life PDF Print E-mail

 

The 2nd annual Lady Tiger Basketball Pink Out Night will be held on Monday, February 11 when the Lady Tigers play Mtn. View. All festivities begin at 6:00pm.
T-shirts with this year's theme are being sold. Orders are being taken until Feb. 7th. Prices are the same as last year: $12 for youth sizes through adult XL; $15 for 2XL-5XL. Contact a girl's basketball player, the high school office, or Audrey Kell to order your tshirt.
 
All fans are encouraged to dress in pink that night in support of breast cancer awareness and research. Pink food and snacks will be available for purchase. Activities include the "proudest pink person", halftime games, and a silent auction.
 
All funds raised will be given locally to Relay for Life.

Winning Essays PDF Print E-mail

Three Houston juniors will be honored for their Voice of Democracy winning essays at a banquet at the Licking Memorial Post 6337. Sixty students wrote patriotic essays in Ms. Cremer's English III classes.

The local Post committee narrowed the entries to seven students who then read and recorded their essays resulting in the three winners. Robert Kinney took first place honors, Caroline Dunn placed 2nd, and Cheston Malam placed 3rd. The Post thanks all the youth participants and their patriotism.

 

A banquet honoring the students from Houston and Licking schools that placed at the local level in the Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen competition will be held on February 18th, at 6:00 pm at the Licking Memorial Post 6337.

Middle school students in Mandy Adey's math classes have been learning about mean, median, mode, stem and leaf plots and line graphs.

From the 1st hour class is Jaydin Ramsey, Connor Clifton, Ty Johnson and Orion Wikert. Learning math!

 
Professional Development PDF Print E-mail

On January 2nd teachers, administrators, and staff spent the day attending Professional Development sessions.

Teachers were instructed in safety procedures by the Texas County Sherriff's Office and the Houston Police Department.

Mrs. Audrey Kell instructed the staff on student data. Mr. Scott Dill discussed safety procedures, school improvements, and high quality teaching methods.
