Welcome to Houston High School!

Houston High School proudly serves approximately 350 students in grades 9 – 12.  We have 38 teachers and 8 of those are shared teachers with the Middle School.  We offer close to 120 courses including, 4 Dual Credit courses (American History, English, Biology and Algebra).  Students that successfully complete any or all of the Dual Credit courses will be given credit at Missouri State University – West Plains.

Houston High School also provides numerous extra and co-curricular opportunities for the students to participate in.  If you are considering moving to the district or just curious, please take a moment to browse the different activities we have to offer.

Beginning in the 2009-2010-school year, our school is making an aggressive move to become a Professional Learning Community.  Within that scope, we have made several changes to our traditional “way of doing things”.  Every Wednesday next year, we will release the students at 2:00 p.m.  From 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. every one of our teachers will engage in professional development activities and intense collaboration activities.  Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, our students will be given specific time to receive assistance in areas they are struggling in.  This process will be called ATLAS (All Tigers Learn At School) Time.  Please click on the link for a full description of this process.

We are extremely proud of our school and would certainly welcome you at any time to call or drop by.

We also believe that every day is a GREAT DAY TO BE A HOUSTON TIGER!

Please feel free to contact me.
