WHAT'S NEW

There will be a mandatory meeting for Academic Team on Monday Feb. 2 in Mr. Pounds' room during Atlas. 

Due to cooler temperatures, football off-season will be in the Elementary gym today.  Please do not walk through the Elementary school, walk around and come in through the side doors of the gym.  

A+ Tutor logs are due this Friday, Jan. 30 for the weeks of Jan 19-30.  Please make sure your host teacher checks it and signs it before you turn it in to the Guidance Office.

The Missouri State Teachers Foundation is proudly sponsoring the Kent King Educator Scholarship.  Applicants must be enrolled as a full time student in preparation for the teaching profession.  Applications can be picked up at the Guidance Office.  Deadline is March 31, 2015.

The following students on the MSU trip for Feb. 11 need to complete the following things:  Josilyn Barbagiovanni (permission slip), Liz Harris (permission slip), Tony Christopher (pay fine), Leanna Schafer (permission slip), Camryn Scheets (permission slip and pay fine).

Texas County Soil and Water Conservation District are offering two $250 scholarships for a graduating senior who will be entering the 2015 fall semester in a State College, Technical College or a Trade School AND seeking a degree in the following fields of study:  Natural Resources, Agriculture, Science and Engineering.  Deadline is March 31, 2015.

REMINDERS

Sophomores:  Jostens will return this TODAY, to accept class ring orders during lunch time in the cafeteria.  He will also be here on Thursday from 4:30-6:30 to meet with parents in the lobby.

Prom committee will meet Friday morning at 7:30 am, in Mrs. Oakley's room.

Juniors:  The drawing for the $500 Visa Card and the iPad will be in three weeks (Feb. 13).  We need to sell more tickets to make this a successful fund-raiser!  If you have sold tickets, please turn them in, with the money.  If you need more tickets you may pick some up from Mrs. Malam in the guidance office, or Mrs. Oakley in the vocational building.

FCCLA is selling red, long stem carnations to be delivered the Friday before Valentines Day! They are $2 each or you can get 2 carnations for $3.  Buy one for your love, friend, teacher, or crush.  Teachers, don't forget your cadets and tutors!  You can order them for anyone in the district- preschool to seniors!  We will sell before school and during lunch, or come see Mrs. Steelman.

Hoop Queen t-shirts will be on sale during lunch Monday, Jan. 26 -  Wednesday, Feb. 4.  Cost is $10 for short sleeve and $12 for long-sleeved.

Feb. 15 - Students age 16-18 who are interested in Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy that will be held May 31st - June 5th, 2015 can pick up an application at the guidance office.  Applications are due to the District Chairman by Feb. 15, 2015

Feb. 20 - Seniors:  Physical Therapy Specialist Scholarship Application is available at the Guidance Office for a $1000 scholarship opportunity.  Deadline to submit is Feb. 20, 2015.

Feb 27 - ECCU will be awarding two non-renewable $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  The application packet can be picked up at the guidance office.  Deadline is February 27, 2015.

March 16 - $2000 Scholarship from MFA Foundation.  It may be used at any college of your choice and for any course of study you desire.  Applications available at the Guidance Office.  Deadline to submit to the Guidance Office is 3:00 pm March 16, 2015.

March 31 - Mid Missouri Credit Union will be awarding eight-$1000 Marion Dale Summerford Memorial Scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  Applications can be picked up at the guidance office or found at Mid Missouri Credit Union.  Applicants must be a member of the Credit Union.  If a student does not have an account through the credit union, they can open one and then apply for the scholarship.  Deadline is March 31, 2015.

April 15 - Texas County Technical College Scholarship Program will award two scholarships of $500 each to a high school senior interested in attending Texas County Technical College.  Applications can be picked up at the guidance office.  Deadline is April 15, 2015.

July 1 - Penske is providing a scholarship to a student pursuing a Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medium/Heavy Truck Technology (MHT) at State Technical College of Missouri.  Applications can be picked up at the guidance office.  Deadline is July 1, 2015.
