Welcome to Houston Middle School

  • Welcome to Houston Middle School!

Houston Middle School proudly serves approximately 240 students in grades 6-8. We offer a variety of courses for our students. In addition to core curricular classes in math, communication arts, science and social studies, we also offer courses in family and consumer science, agriculture, art, music appreciation, reading, keyboarding, technology, band, choir, physical education, health and Spanish.  We also incorporate Project Lead the Way (PLTW) into our Technology and Science classes.

Our school is a Professional Learning Community in which all stakeholders and teachers collaborate frequently to move toward our middle school mission to “Motivate, Educate, Appreciate and Celebrate EVERY ONE, EVERY DAY!” The middle school incorporates a response to intervention time called Tigers Need Time, (TNT), to promote the success of all students. Administration and teachers work collectively to incorporate best practices and continue to grow professionally to provide the learning environment we believe all kids deserve.

Our teachers and students are well equipped with essential technology for learning. Each enrolled student has daily access to a specified Chromebook, making us a one-to-one institution.

We are extremely proud of our school, students and faculty at HMS. We strive to provide a positive and safe learning environment. In addition, as an educational team, we are dedicated to academic excellence and holding high expectations to ensure that each and every student will be a successful learner. We are excited about the 2019-20 school year and know that through a positive culture we will successfully conquer challenges, meet established goals, focus our purpose, celebrate countless successes, and surpass all expectations.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the middle school.
