Covid 19 Grab and Go

Please read all the information below!!

Beginning Tuesday, March 24th

Houston R-1 School District will be providing breakfast and lunch meals for our area kids 18 and under.

Parents may pick up meals for their children from 10:00-12:00 at the normal Elementary drop-off/pick-up location or students may walk through the location for pickup as well.

The children will need to be present in the vehicle or be with you when you walk to receive the meals. This can include parents or anyone caring for other children. Regardless of where your children attend school, this option will be available at Houston R-1. Raymondville and Success schools will also be offering similar services.

This service is available FREE to all students regardless of income guidelines and will be available at least through April 3 (weekdays only) and will continue should the break be extended.

If you are interested in this or plan to take advantage of this service please call your building (417)-967-3024

(Elementary, Middle School, or High School) between the hours of 10:00 am to 1:00 pm tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th or fill out the Google form below:

It is important that we get an accurate count for meal preparation. If you have students in multiple buildings you will only need to call one site.

COVID-19 Grab and Go Food For Families. This is available on the school Website.

This temporary program is being made possible through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and in partnership with the Houston R-1 School District.

Eligible disabled adults over the age of 18 may also receive free meals at the school.

The district has received a special waiver to implement the SFSP during this closure; however, all meals will be “grab and go” to eliminate large groups of people congregating in one area.

All are asked to practice social distancing and follow CDC recommendations during pickup.

We will also be working on future delivery methods to students unable to utilize the drive thru.

We ask that you be patient as we develop this process and make adjustments to accommodate the needs of as many children as we can. Our hope is over the next week that we will have this system as streamlined as possible.

Thank you

Dr. Allen Moss
Superintendent
