It is the policy of the Houston R-1 School District and a Missouri State Law, that all students attending the district schools, shall be immunized in accordance with law, against vaccine-preventable diseases. REQUIRED, for your upcoming Senior/ 12th grader, is the Meningococcal (meningitis) shot. Acceptable Meningococcal shots are MCV4NOS, Menactra and Menveo.
You MUST provide proof of your child’s immunizations prior to 12th grade entry. Failure to do so, will result in the district to not allow a student to attend school, until the district has satisfactory evidence on file that the student has been immunized, that the immunization process has begun and satisfactory progress is being accomplished or to prove that the child will not be immunized for religious or medical reasons. This can be accomplished by signing a religious exempt card at the school or doctor’s note stating it would endanger the student’s health or life.
Please feel free to contract Mrs. Smith at 417-967-3024, Ext. 2404, if you should have any questions.
