FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: AUGUST 21

The 2024-25 school year at the Houston R-1 School District begins on Wednesday, Aug. 21. We are excited to welcome back our Tigers! Below are links and helpful information to make your student(s) return to school the absolute best it can be!

ONLINE REGISTRATION: All students, both new and returning, are required to register for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. STUDENT PORTALS: Here are the step-by-step instructions:

• Login using the following link: https://houstonr1mo.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/students/houstonr1.jsp

• Usernames remain the same: last name + first 3 letters of first name.

• New passwords are: last name + date of birth (MMDDYY). As an example, if your last name is Graham and your birth date is 12/12/2004, your password will be graham121204.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE CHANGES: They are available for high schoolers by appointment with Ms. Volk via this link: https://calendar.app.google/yLdyjnDjGZccdvR17. Walk-in appointments will also be available Aug. 13 from 2-5 p.m. at School-A-Palooza in Hiett Gymnasium.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULE CHANGES: All middle school schedule changes must be made by Thursday, Aug. 15. No changes will be allowed after this date. Email Mr. Brett Rawlings at brawlings@houston.k12.mo.us. In your email, please state 1) what you would like to change and 2) why you would like to make the change.

SCHOOL-A-PALOOZA: The third annual event has been set for 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, inside Hiett Gymnasium. There are multiple vendors and services as well as the change to pick up school supplies. Click here to read more.

OPEN HOUSES: All district Open Houses will be held on Aug. 19.

• Early Childhood Center, 5-6 p.m.

• Elementary, 6-7:30 p.m.

• Middle School, 6-7:30 p.m. (6th grades & new students 6 p.m. Hiett Gym)

• High School, 6-7:30 p.m. (Freshmen orientation 7 p.m. Hiett Gym)

CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE: Protect against possible damage to student Chromebooks by purchasing the $25 insurance. If parents choose not to pay for the insurance policy, the parent and/or student will be liable for payment of ALL damages to and/or loss of the Chromebook, which could be $300 or $500. SCHOOL HOURS: The school day begins at 8 a.m. Doors open at 7:40 a.m. Departures are staggered: ECC and Elementary are 2:50 p.m. while Middle and High School dismiss at 3:10 p.m.
