We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the Houston Education Foundation (HEF) for their continued support of Houston R-I Schools! Each year, HEF helps provide our students with the tools, experiences, and opportunities they need to succeed β€” both in the classroom and beyond.

Thanks to their generosity, HEF has recently funded:

  • ACT Prep Workshop for 50 students – $2,000

  • Band sound equipment – $2,000

  • Ag welding gear (glasses, jackets, gloves) – $1,955.77

  • School-A-Palooza – $500

  • Elementary PE mats – $1,787.28

  • HALO playroom rubber flooring – $2,324

  • Building Trades tool trailer (half cost) – $4,912

  • Graphic Arts drone & 360Β° camera – $1,818.95

HEF has also supported additional teacher grants for:

  • High school PE and Life Skills equipment

  • High school calculators

  • A color printer for the ECC

  • Middle school archery repair kits

  • Three Kindles for the ECC

  • An iPad for exchange student translation

  • A $500 teacher mini grant

  • Clocks and boards for the high school chess club

  • Headphones for elementary special education classrooms

Each year, HEF also awards two graduating seniors with $2,000 scholarships! πŸŽ“
