Introducing the new leader of Houston Lady Tiger Basketball 🐯🏀 Congratulations, Coach Micah Lee! Coach Lee is a 2009 Thayer graduate who was a two-time all-state selection and still holds the program's career scoring mark with 2,123 points. She played Division II basketball on a full ride scholarship at Maryville University in St. Louis for one year before returning home to get married, start a family and pursue a degree in education. She has taught three years, most recently in social studies at Houston Middle School, and has coached both boys and girls middle school basketball. She is very active in volunteer coaching in our local youth programs as well as her son's 3/4th grade travel team. When it comes to her coaching philosophy, Coach Lee said, "It’s all about working harder than everyone around you. Physical and mental toughness is the most valuable asset players can have. Fans can look to see a fast-paced, aggressive, style of play this year. These ladies are a young group, ready to get to work, and I’m ready to be right beside them every step of the way." #TheTigerWay

Is your child up to date on their immunizations. Contact the Texas County Health Department to schedule an appointment at 417-967-4131 Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4pm. If you are unsure if your child is up to date, please contact your primary care provider. If you choose to exempt your child there is a medical exemption and a religious exemption. Those exemptions need to be updated yearly with the school and are available at the Health Department as well.

Watch Houston R-1 Bands perform the national anthem and if you're among the first 2,000 fans, receive a Paul Goldschmidt MVP bobblehead. Tickets are just $11.
