Congratulations to the HMS Scholar Bowl team for its second-place finish πŸ₯ˆ among 14 teams Tuesday at the Clever Invitational. The Tigers went 7-1 with a 276.25 points per game average. Seventh-grader Keaton Hinkle won the tournament's individual honors with more than 86 points per game. Way to go Tigers! Team members are Keaton Hinkle, Chris Leighty, Ryan Hazlett, and Cash Copley.

New to the district elementary teachers participated in PLTW (Project Lead the Way) training this week. The program empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges through computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. Students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate and collaborate.

Three Houston Middle Schoolers earned all-state honors Saturday in Wheatland by finishing in the top 25 of the Class 3 cross country state championship. Lyla Huffman finished third overall on the girls' side and Jessyn Allen was 25th. For the boys, Dillon Shelton placed 14th.
