Our sixth graders toured one of our state's top attractions Wednesday: The Missouri State Penitentiary. Opened in 1836 along the banks of the Missouri River in Jefferson City, the prison housed inmates for 168 years and was the oldest continually operating prison west of the Mississippi until it was decommissioned in 2004. Now the Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau offers a wide variety of tours at the site, once named the “The bloodiest 47 acres in America” by Time Magazine.

The HHS Art Club 🐯🎨 is holding a canned and boxed goods food drive on campus this week. All donations will be given to Texas County Food Pantry INC. to share with families in our community this Thanksgiving. We encourage students, staff and community members to join us by bringing a donation to campus.

INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 Ms. Jaden Beasley's third graders read "How to Catch a Turkey" then worked in groups to design a turkey trap 📦🦃 They gathered supplies throughout the room to build and test their prototype. The students had so much fun working together as a team, and they built some great traps together!
