RECORD BREAKERβΌοΈ Houston sixth grader Lyla Huffman ran the 800 meters in 2:49.87 on April 4 at the West Plains Open to set a new seventh grade girls' record. She eclipsed the mark of 2:51.32 set by Sarah Fraser in 2000.
And yes, she's a sixth grader. Lyla is one of a handful of sixth graders competing with our Middle School Track Team. Way to go Lyla!

INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS π― Students in Mrs. Mandy Adey's careers class on Thursday learned about cooking skills, a career as a chef, and tied in some measurement math/life skills. Students had a great time learning how to make pancakes and waffles as well as teamwork! "I'm so proud of these kids, their manners, and willingness to try new things! Their cooperation was amazing," Mrs. Adey said.

INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS π― Students in Mrs. Mandy Adey's technology class designed puzzle cubes with criteria and constraints by making algorithms through a design process using a design brief on what to do with excess scrap. Students using the design process designed a strategic puzzle. Some were more difficult to solve than others. Students will be making 3D printing prototypes of their puzzles starting next week. #TheBestWillBe #HoustonFutureReady
