Once a month during STORYBOOK CREATIONS night at the Elementary School, families join their students to read a story 📕 and participate in a themed craft 🎨 This week, it was a Christmas theme with our librarian, Mrs. Dara Gulick, reading "Pig the Elf" and families making ornaments based on book characters.
Another championship 🏆 for the HHS Scholar Bowl team as Andy Durham and Aubrey Crocket led the A team to the title Saturday at Fair Grove. Durham was first individually with 131 points per game.

INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 Mrs. Sarah Williams' first graders learned about the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and made window displays and parade balloons as part of the lesson.
Our FCCLA attended the 2022 Missouri Fall Leadership Conference this week. Leadership workshops were attended and a lot of fun was had by all! They even placed in the top 10 teams on the THINKFAST trivia activity.
Jake Allen is the HHS Student-Athlete of the Month! A junior member of the Cross Country team, Jake had eight top 10 finishes this season. During the month of October, he finished 10th at Licking, sixth at the SCA Championships, 5th at Ava, second at Houston, and was the Tigers' fastest runner at Districts.
It was CAREER DAY 👮🏼♀️👩🏻⚕️👷🏻🧑🏻💻👩🏼💼 on campus as our High School students heard from professionals in many walks of life - from military and construction to teachers, photographers and everything in between. Each student chose four sessions to be part of. A special thank you to the men and women who partnered with us and invested their knowledge and insights with our students.
INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 Students at our Early Childhood Center (ECC) built traps to catch a turkey 🦃 They used their fine motor and best problem solving skills to accomplish the task.
INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 After reading the book "Balloons Over Broadway," students in Mrs. Trina Morgan's fourth grade class built their own balloon floats 🎈🎈 and showed them off to their peers in the elementary school.
It was a cold 🥶 but fun night of Powder Puff Football 🏈 tonight. The Pink Team (seniors and freshmen) won 14-0 over the Blue Team (juniors and sophomores).

After sIx months offshore, Trevor took some of his well deserved time off to talk with our class. Hearing about the everyday life of an offshore diver was fascinating. INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 It's dissection season! HHS biology students in Mrs. Randi Wilson’s class finished earthworm dissections last week to learn how organ systems and feed back mechanisms work to maintain homeostasis. Zoology students are currently dissecting the dogfish shark to learn how fish body systems and anatomy differ from other vertebrate organisms.
Every Thursday in our Middle School is #ThemeThursday. This week, students are invited to participate in Hunting Day by wearing orange 🟠 or camouflage 🟢 They can also come as the hunted 🦌 Just no weapons.
