Join Houston R-1 Bands πΊπ΅ spring concerts for both high school (May 4) and middle school (May 9). Concert goers are encouraged to bring a homemade pie or another baked good to help the program raise funds for musical summer camp scholarships. Bruce Scheets will be our auctioneer.

ANOTHER SEAGO RECORDβΌοΈ Eighth grader Summer Seago broke her second Houston Middle School girls track record this week with a throw of 34 feet, 8 1/2 inches in the shotput at the SCA Meet. She eclipsed the mark of 34'4" set by Erica Keeney in 2007.
Summer is a Raymondville students who practices and competes with our track team. She set a new program record in the long jump earlier this year. Way to go Summer!

Today is Bike π² To π² School π² Day π² sponsored by the Houston School District Wellness Program. Forty-five students biked or rolled to campus for classes. HHS Scholar Bowl went 10-0 Saturday as one of only six undefeated teamsβΌοΈ at the Scholar Bowl Small School National Championship Tournament in Chicago. Houston is seeded fourth for Sunday's playoffs in a tournament that began with 77 teams.

Another record down! Houston sixth grader Lyla Huffman ran the 1600 meters in 6:03.74 Saturday in the Middle School State Championships held at SBU. She finished seventh in the large school division that includes all middle school grades. Congratulations Lyla!
