February is CTE Month as we honor the men and women who lead our students in Career and Technical Education. And at Houston, we have some of the absolute best teaching and training students at the Piney River Technical Center! Our CTE opportunities prepare our young people for the job market and/or further education. The programs combine academics and job-specific skill training to assist in narrowing the skills gap. The district's CTE instructors and programs are, from left: Kristy Ijames (Business); Preston Wade (Building Trades); Sadie Gill (Family and Consumer Science); Adam Vandiver (Welding); Sherri Gale (Business); Matthew Price (Agriculture); and Jennifer Gunter (Health Occupations).
